New Passive House Residence
This Certified Passive House was designed to accommodate the desire for a lifelong zero energy home.  It was developed with a first floor bedroom suite and future ramp access if ever needed by the client. Due to the highly efficient building envelope heating and cooling is able to be provided by two suit case sized ducted minisplit units.  Even without these units the building maintains a temperature in the 60's in the winter due to right sized and very efficient south facing glazing.  The house is organized around a two story dining area which allows for light air circulation and a sense of interconnectedness between the main spaces.  Due to its air tightness and insulation the full walk out basement though currently unfinished maintains the same humidity level and temperature of the rest of the house which is not usually the case in most homes.  Thus it is fully useable space.
